Member of Genesis, Vojta, just ended his long-term volunteering in Georgia in ICPI – our friends and partners. Below you can read some words from Vojta about his experience.
I had a unique experience as an ESC volunteer in the nonprofit organization ICPI for 9 months in Georgia.
Throughout this time, I have experienced many things and dived into Georgian culture a lot.
As a volunteer, I assisted project managers in my organization and organized an English club for adults, and volunteered in the well-known organization Caritas as a youth worker.
Outside of my work responsibilities, I was part of a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu team in Tbilisi and improved my MMA skills with Georgians and other foreigners.
Also during weekends I was hiking and traveling across all of Caucasus such as Yerevan, Kazbegi, Lagodekhi, and Batumi.
Nightlife in Tbilisi was always vibrant and whenever I got a taste of the beer, I met many people across cultures in bars and nightclubs in the center of the city. Chilling with friends couldn’t be without drinking Georgian spirit Chacha and eating meat dumplings „Khinkali“ and chicken on fire „Shashlik“.
Overall I would recommend ESC volunteering to all who want to experience life abroad, get to know different cultures, volunteer in NGO, and have some time for yourself to do your favorite activities.
